A bit about me

I'm a Melbourne-based interior designer who helps hands-on homeowners
make confident design decisions - without handing over their entire project.

I founded Styled Haus in 2010 because I saw a gap: people wanted expert guidance on the big design decisions (kitchens, bathrooms, hard surface finishes) but didn't need or want a full-service designer managing every detail.

What I'm Good At

After 15 years in the industry, I've learned where I add the most value: kitchens, bathrooms, and hard surface selections. These are the decisions that make or break a space—and where most people feel stuck.

I have an eye for colour, texture, and scale. My specialty is rethinking existing spaces, blending heritage and architectural elements with modern finishes. The result? Something timeless that feels uniquely yours.

I'm also obsessed with the technical side. I create design intent floorplans and elevations that builders and cabinetmakers can actually work from—no confusion, no back-and-forth, just clear instructions that get your vision built right the first time.

My Approach to Design

Start with what's already there
Good design respects a home's heritage and bones. I pay attention to the foundations and architectural character before making any decisions on finishes or layout.

Take a holistic view
I look at your home as a whole, not just the room you're renovating. I identify foundational elements that already exist - a brick fireplace, timber flooring, the era of the building, the light quality, and use those cues to develop a palette that's harmonious and complementary. The goal is to create a space that looks like it was always meant to be there.

Create cohesion
I’ll help you create a colour and materials palette that weaves itself through your entire home, making everything feel intentional. I'll help you develop this so your spaces talk to each other instead of competing.

Be brave with your choices
I'll encourage you to push past safe choices when it makes sense, and give you the confidence that it's going to work. The most outstanding results come from stepping outside your comfort zone.

Make it functional
Beautiful design that doesn't work for your lifestyle isn't good design. I focus on how you actually live in your space.

Make it yours
Your home should reflect your personality and suit your lifestyle. My job is to help you articulate what that looks like and then work with you to make it happen.

Why I Work This Way

Not everyone needs (or wants) a full-service designer.

My job isn't just to help you what to choose the right colours, it's to educate and guide you on the options so you can make confident decisions yourself.

That means explaining the real differences in building materials - engineered floorboards vs. solid timber flooring, cabinet materials - timber veneer, timber laminate or coloured board. Benchtop surfaces - porcelain, engineered stone and natural stone, flat doors vs. profile doors, front facing handles, lip pulls, fingerpulls. I’ll educate you on the differences so you can make informed choices about materials that fit your budget, lifestyle and aesthetic.

I'll also make sure you know the language to use when communicating with your builder and cabinet maker. Speaking the same language keeps everyone on the same page and your tradespeople happy. You stay in control. I provide the expertise.

No overthinking. No guesswork. Just clear guidance from someone who's seen it all before.

Let's Work Together

If you're planning a renovation or refresh and want expert guidance without handing over your entire project, I'd love to help.

I work with hands-on homeowners across Melbourne who value professional design advice and want to stay involved in bringing their vision to life.
